U.S. Hits Centenarian Milestone in 2025: Hawaii Leads the Way

In 2025, the United States reached a notable milestone in longevity, with a significant increase in centenarians. However, specific regional data on the highest proportion of centenarians per 10,000 inhabitants remains elusive due to lack of relevant search results.

Nationally, the centenarian population stood at 2.42 per 10,000 people. While exact regional breakdowns are unavailable, some states and territories boasted impressive numbers. Hawaii led the way with 4.44 centenarians per 10,000 people, closely followed by Puerto Rico at 4.14 per 10,000 people.

In terms of sheer numbers, California topped the list with 10,623 centenarians, followed by New York, Florida, and Texas. This growth builds on the 2020 Census figure, which recorded 80,139 centenarians nationwide.

The 2025 figures underscore the increasing longevity of Americans, with certain regions, such as Hawaii and Puerto Rico, demonstrating particularly high proportions of centenarians. Despite the lack of detailed regional data, the overall trend indicates a growing number of centenarians across the United States.
