New Outdoor Calisthenics Facility Opens in Hünxe, Germany
Hünxe, a picturesque municipality in Germany, has recently unveiled a new outdoor sports facility designed for Calisthenics training. The facility, located in the heart of the town, boasts various workout stations for bodyweight exercises such as pull-ups, dips, push-ups, and more.
The project, fully funded by grants, has been a collaborative effort between local authorities, sports promotion organisations, and community development funds. Notable contributors include Hermann Hansen, in his personal capacity, the state of NRW's program for the promotion of structural and village development, and the Nottenkamper Foundation.
Initially, the courses at the facility will be exclusive to TVB members, although non-members are also encouraged to try it out. The first courses are scheduled to start this month, with Ilona Adamzik from TVB leading the training sessions every Tuesday at 7 pm.
The mayor of Hünxe, Dirk Buschmann, considers the facility impressive and is pleased to present it to the town. He expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in making the facility possible. The chairwoman of TVB, Gabriele Reinartz, shared similar sentiments, stating that they are delighted to provide a new sports facility to their members and the citizens of Hünxe.
The outdoor sports facility, TÜV-certified and ready for use, can accommodate up to 20 people at a time. It is intended to be a year-round facility, offering an accessible space for strength and endurance training and promoting physical activity within the community.
Calisthenics, a form of fitness that uses one's own body weight for resistance training, is often seen outdoors on special workout parks. This new facility in Hünxe aims to encourage this practice, fostering a healthier lifestyle for its citizens.
The extreme bureaucratic effort to get the project approved involved many people, but the end result has been worth it. The opening of the sports facility was celebrated by TVB and the citizens of Hünxe, marking a significant addition to their public sports infrastructure.
