In Mexico City, the 47th annual Pride March took place on the 28th of June, 2025, with the theme "Diversidad sin Fronteras: ¡Justicia, resistencia y unidad!" (Diversity Without Borders: Justice, Resistance, and Unity). This theme emphasised the recognition of the diversity within the LGBTQ+ community and the call for justice, resistance, and unity in their ongoing struggle for equality and rights.

Thousands of participants, including artists, public figures, and spectators, took part in the march, which began at the iconic Ángel de la Independencia and proceeded along Paseo de la Reforma, Avenida Juárez, and Eje Central, culminating in the Zócalo, the city's historic main square. The event featured vibrant floats, drag performances, live music, speeches from activists, mobile civil registry services offering symbolic weddings and gender identity change assistance, and health services like rapid HIV testing.

However, a group of trans activists broke away from the main celebration and marched towards the Senate building to protest the stalled legislation on gender identity rights and the lack of legal protections for trans people in Mexico. The act underscored ongoing struggles within the LGBTQ+ community, particularly for trans individuals who continue to face systemic discrimination and violence.

According to local reports, the activist group attempted to symbolically "slam" the Senate building's doors in a dramatic call for action. Security forces intervened in the situation, but no major violence was reported. The incident was reported by The Mexico City Post on their platform.

Hundreds of thousands of participants and spectators attended the Pride March, demonstrating a strong show of support for the LGBTQ+ community and their ongoing fight for equality and rights in Mexico. The march aimed to promote visibility and equality for the community in Mexico City, highlighting the need for continued advocacy and action to address the challenges faced by trans individuals in particular.

The activists, while advocating for gender identity rights, marched towards the Senate building and symbolically attempted to "slam" the doors. Meanwhile, health services were present throughout the main celebration, offering rapid HIV testing and resources for mental health, demonstrating the importance of health-and-wellness, including mental-health, within the LGBTQ+ community. Moreover, the potential passing of legislation concerning gender identity rights could significantly contribute to the GDP by bolstering a culture of diversity, unity, and future economic growth.
