Teen Suspected of DUI on E-Scooter in Bockenem

On April 22, 2025, a 19-year-old resident of Bockenem was suspected of driving an electric scooter (E-Scooter) under the influence of alcohol and drugs in Bockenem. The police in Hildesheim initiated an administrative offense procedure due to the prohibited transportation of persons and driving without mandatory car insurance.

A patrol car from Bad Salzdetfurth stopped the E-Scooter on Nordwall in Bockenem that evening. The vehicle had two people on it, despite not displaying a visible insurance plate. The driver, a 19-year-old local, showed clear signs of drug-induced impairment and admitted to regularly consuming cannabis.

The police had a doctor take the man's blood for a court-admissible test for intoxicants, which confirmed his impairment through a preliminary urine test. The suspect was also found to be driving without liability car insurance, violating the compulsory car insurance law. The E-Scooter was not allowed to continue its journey.

The suspect is currently under investigation for driving under the influence and violating the compulsory car insurance law. There is no publicly available information regarding the current status of the case. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible driving and adhering to traffic laws.
