St. Josef Hospital Launches New Self-Help Group for Obesity Patients
St. Josef Hospital near me is launching a new self-help group for patient obesity on October 8. Led by Christin Nissen and Janina Piwon, the group aims to provide a supportive space for patients to exchange experiences and motivate each other. The inaugural lecture will be given by Dr. Florian Dietl, chief physician of the Clinic for General and Visceral Surgery, discussing the possibilities, risks, and chances of severe obesity.
The self-help group meetings will take place on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 pm in Conference Room U38 of St. Josef Hospital. No registration is required to attend. Dr. Florian Dietl, who heads the Department of General and Visceral Surgery at the hospital, will lead the inaugural lecture.
St. Josef Hospital has been treating obesity comprehensively for 15 years and is currently one of the 20 reference centers nationwide. The Adipositas Hochstift reference center accompanies more than 500 patients annually, focusing on individual and long-term care. The hospital offers a multimodal therapy concept for obesity, including nutrition and exercise counseling, psychotherapy, and surgical interventions.
