Russian Soldier Jumps from Barracks in Apparent Service Fitness Anxiety

A soldier from a Russian military unit is in hospital after jumping from the third floor of his barracks on October 4. The soldier, whose name has not been disclosed, is receiving necessary medical care. An investigation is underway to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The soldier had been awaiting a decision from the military-medical commission regarding his fitness for further service. He had previously been diagnosed with 'adaptation disorder' following the loss of a close relative before conscription. This is not the first incident at the military unit. Last fall, another conscript was injured by a pistol. In the spring, cadets of the National Guard Academy were involved in a mass brawl that resulted in several injuries. CCTV recordings confirm there was no external interference in the latest incident.

The soldier is currently receiving medical treatment. An internal investigation has been launched to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident. The soldier's name has not been publicly disclosed.
