Celebrating World Blood Donor Day in Astana's Shopping Mall

In the bustling city of Astana, a heartwarming event unfolded at the Han Shatyyr shopping center for World Blood Donor Day. The event was orchestrated by the Scientific Production Center of Transfusiology of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Attendees included representatives from the Ministry of Health, local public organizations, voluntary blood donors, and some popular Kazakhstani artists.

According to the records, in 2024, a whopping 31,088 individuals donated blood in Astana, with 14,149 doing so in the first five months of 2025. Among these generous contributors were both inexperienced (over 11,000) and experienced donors (over 5,900).

As of 2024, there was a single stationary blood donation point in Astana, with 194 mobile sessions held in 107 organizations. By 2025, the number of stationary points doubled to two, with 76 mobile events taking place in the initial months.

The organizers pointed out that they have yet to analyze blood donation activity by city districts. However, they plan to intensify educational initiatives, primarily targeting the youth.

Currently, Astana boasts 29 donors who have received the "For Contribution to Health Protection" badge. Moreover, five candidates' dossiers have been sent to the Ministry of Health for consideration. Not only do these individuals frequently donate blood but they also embody a spirit of social responsibility and humanism.

The organizers emphasized the vital role played by the donor movement and offered their gratitude to all voluntary blood donors who contribute to saving countless lives.

The primary objective of the event was twofold: to express gratitude to donors and advocate for regular and voluntary blood donation. The event saw award presentations and a lively concert.
