Over the course of eleven days, a total of 739 matches took place, graced by a whopping 200,000 spectators. The focus was on the controversial yet crucial matter of organ donation. Notably, 92,000 passes and informative flyers were handed out to the crowd, driving the message home.
A Resounding Success
Judith Gerlach, CSU's Bavaria Health Minister, was also thrilled with the outcome. "The Organ Donation Action Days were a triumph! This event brought organ donation into the limelight of hundreds of games, shedding light on its significance. It's essential that people engage and discuss this matter actively, as we have around 1,100 souls in Bavaria who are currently waiting for a hope-giving donor organ — and sadly, some are losing their battles," she shared.
"I wish to extend my gratitude to the BFV for their commitment to this meaningful action and to the participating clubs for their dedication to the cause of organ donation," Gerlach acknowledged.

The finals of the Bavarian Toto Cup competition in all 22 Bavarian football districts and the top game of the Regionalliga Bayern between 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 and FC Würzburger Kickers on May 1st, received special attention and funding, around €128,000, from the Bavarian State Ministry of Health, Care, and Prevention.
