Redefining Our Digital Destiny: Unveiling Our Revamped Platform

Following an assessment of its magazine operations, the independent publishing arm of the national science agency's publishing partner has announced that production of our platform, Cosmos, will come to an end. The official final print and digital editions will be published in June 2025. All subscribers will be refunded for their remaining subscription periods.

The Cosmos online news service will persist, transitioning to a new digital science platform by our publishing partner later in the year. This new website will encompass peer-reviewed journals, e-books, and fact-based science news, fostering an engaging community dedicated to a sustainable future.

A dedicated team of journalists will continue producing news stories about cutting-edge science discoveries and interviewing renowned scientists. To stay updated on these developments, ensure you have subscribed to Cosmos newsletters.

This decision reflects a larger trend of audiences turning away from printed magazines, given the escalating costs of print media production.

It is with gratitude that we acknowledge the significant contributions made by the writers, staff, and readers who have supported Cosmos over the years.

Subscription refund policies are outlined below, depending on the method of purchase:

  • If your subscription was directly purchased from our partner and paid with a credit card, the balance of your subscription term will be credited to the card owner's account.
  • Subscribers who purchased through the Royal Institution of Australia prior to June 2024 should contact us via email at [email protected] or call 1300 788000 to arrange a refund.
  • Refunds for agents will follow their standard procedures.
  • Schools or libraries that made purchases via EFT or through an invoice on their school account will be contacted for their refund arrangements.

For media enquiries, contact [email protected]. General enquiries can be directed to [email protected] or 1300 788000.
