The city of Aachen and the local sports association are set to collaborate on the return of the popular "Sport im Park" initiative, a free fitness studio under the open sky, commencing on May 31st and running until July 11th.
This year's event, backed by sponsors STAWAG and Sparkasse Aachen, promises an extensive programme catering to various age groups, fitness levels, and preferences. With over 100 weekly sports offerings, participants can look forward to a diverse range of activities, including dancing, Zumba, yoga, Pilates, back fitness, HIIT workouts, rugby, skating, capoeira, and running.
The event series, which kicks off after a "light version" last year, will utilise twenty parks and green spaces across the city. Dr. Markus Kremer, Deputy Mayor of the city of Aachen for personnel, fire, and sports, is the patron of "Sport im Park".
Bjoern Jansen, chairman of the local sports association, expressed his pride in the three-digit number of offerings and appreciated the good cooperation with the city of Aachen. He also mentioned an additional yoga special on June 23rd.
STAWAG and Sparkasse Aachen's support has made the full version of this year's event possible. STAWAG is not only a sponsor but is also involved in a prize draw at "Sport im Park".
