Top Five In-Demand Professions in Nizhny Novgorod Region

The regional government press service has reported that the labor market in the Nizhny Novgorod region is experiencing a high demand for certain professions. According to a labor market analysis conducted on the 'Work Russia' portal, the top five most in-demand professions are seamstresses, skilled workers, drivers, engineers, and doctors.

Seamstresses, with 2,192 open vacancies, hold the top spot on the list. To be employed as a seamstress, one needs a secondary professional education, the ability to perform operations on machines or by hand for sewing various materials, and a strong control over the quality of cutting and the match of colors and accessories.

Turners occupy the second position in the rating with 1,608 open vacancies. Employers for driving positions require responsible employees with 'B', 'C', or 'D' categories and no harmful habits. Drivers are in the third most in-demand profession, with 1,456 open vacancies.

Engineers are in fourth place among the top five most in-demand professions, with 1,038 vacancies. Companies such as GAZ Group, Severstal, and the Nizhny Novgorod Automobile Plant are cooperating with the HR center 'Labor Force Russia' within the national project 'Kadry' to hire personnel that meet current labor market demands.

Doctors are in fifth place among the top five most in-demand professions, with 876 vacancies. For companies that are having the most difficulty finding staff, the employment service organizes on-site meetings and develops individual 'road maps'.

The employment service constantly monitors the base of job seekers to find employees with suitable skills and experience for each employer. The Nizhny Novgorod HR center 'Work Russia' is conducting comprehensive work to provide enterprises in the region with staff. The 'Kadry' national project, initiated by President Vladimir Putin in 2025, encompasses four federal projects aimed at efficiently and promptly preparing personnel to meet employers' needs through coordinated efforts of educational institutions, companies, and the state.

Job offers can be viewed on the 'Work Russia' portal at trudvsem.ru, where over 30,000 vacancies for various specialties and levels of experience are currently posted. Consultation can be sought in any of the employment service offices or in the official group of the Nizhny Novgorod HR center 'Work Russia' on VK: https://vk.com/trudnnov. The employment service also organizes meetings of the employers' club and conducts targeted job fairs.

This analysis was conducted by specialists at the regional HR center 'Work Russia' in September 2025. For more information and assistance, individuals are encouraged to seek help from their local employment service offices or the official group of the Nizhny Novgorod HR center 'Work Russia' on VK.
