New community health center worth $3.5 million to be established in Penn Yan
Finger Lakes Community Health (FLCH) is set to build a new, state-of-the-art health center in Penn Yan, New York. The $3.5 million project, funded by a New York State grant, will replace the existing site on Kimball Avenue and offer expanded services including medical, dental, behavioral health, and care management, all provided under one roof.
The new health center will be located just north of town on North Main Street next to the Yates Community Center. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2026, with the anticipated opening in early 2027.
Mary Zelazny, CEO of FLCH, stated that the new and expanded facility will provide the best health care experience for staff and patients. "We are excited to collaborate with the Yates Community Center on wellness programs for the whole community," she added.
The new health center is part of a broader effort by FLCH to improve healthcare access in rural parts of the Finger Lakes. The project aims to prioritize patient comfort, accessibility, and modern medical infrastructure to enhance healthcare access in the area.
FingerLakes1.com, the region's leading all-digital news publication, has reported on the development of the new health center. Founded in 1998, FingerLakes1.com has been keeping residents informed for more than two decades.
As the construction progresses, the community can look forward to a more comprehensive and convenient healthcare experience at the new Finger Lakes Community Health center in Penn Yan.
