Nearly Half of Oklahoma Women Face Domestic Violence: Panel Discussion April 30

Alarmingly, nearly half of all women in Oklahoma have experienced domestic violence. To tackle this pressing issue and its connection to substance use, a panel discussion titled 'Empowering Women: Let's Talk About Domestic Violence and Substance Use' is set to take place on April 30 at the North Regional Health and Wellness Center.

The event, hosted by the website's substance abuse prevention program in collaboration with CAPSAT, will delve into the impact of domestic violence and substance use on victims. It will also provide crucial resources for support and healing. The panel, featuring Shelby Torrence LADC-MH, Jennifer Saldivar LMSW, and Samantha Wade-Jenkins, will explore these complex issues and offer guidance.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Women experiencing domestic violence, their family members, and professionals working with at-risk populations are all encouraged to attend. While registration is welcomed, it is not mandatory.

Join this important discussion on April 30 to understand the intersection of domestic violence and substance use, and to learn about available resources. Together, we can empower women and foster healing in our communities.
