Manager at Calgary bar accused of multiple sexual assaults
A 31-year-old Calgary man, identified as Ankit Drall, has been slapped with charges over a series of alleged sexual assault incidents.
It all began in January when a woman went for a job interview at Fire N Ice, located at 854 16 Ave. S.W. Authorities believe that during this interview, the manager allegedly inappropriately touched the victim without her consent and then prevented her from leaving. The victim managed to escape and lodged a complaint with the police shortly thereafter.
Fast forward to April 2025, another victim had a run-in with her manager downtown. Police allege that the manager violated his power dynamic and inappropriately touched the second victim without her consent. Later that night, the group of friends accompanied the manager to a downtown residence, where they claim the manager continued to inappropriately touch and sexually assault the victim. The victim reported the incident the following day.
After conducting an investigation, Ankit Drall was charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count of unlawful confinement. He is set to appear in court on July 4.
"We appreciate the bravery of the victims who came forward," said Calgary police Staff Sgt. Paul Ralstin in a statement. "Their actions allowed us to progress this investigation. Consent for any sexual contact must be explicit, voluntary, and unambiguous. It can be given, withdrawn, or withheld at any time."
It's worth noting that there's no mention of Ankit Drall being connected to a sexual assault case in any Canadian search results, aside from the case mentioned above involving a bar manager. However, search results don't reveal any details about Ankit if he is alleged to have been involved in a different case.
