In the upcoming dramedy series, "Don't Fall, Dance," we follow the life of Emma, a character who embodies resilience and the transformative power of art. Based on the autobiographical book by Margot van Schayk, the series offers a unique blend of drama and comedy, serving as a light-hearted celebration of van Schayk's life.

Emma, portrayed as a strong-willed individual, moves to the US and embarks on an internship at a theater, swiftly transitioning to the world of TV. Her life, however, is not without challenges. During her adolescence, Emma battles cancer, leaving consequences for her body, soul, and surroundings. Despite these obstacles, she embraces life with a zest, working harder than others and embracing the spontaneity that it offers.

Emma's story is told in the present, interspersed with occasional flashbacks to her childhood filled with illness and therapy. These moments serve as a poignant reminder of the struggles she has overcome. Emma's illness also brings about fears, as she faces cancer check-ups with apprehension, wondering if the disease has returned.

In her personal life, Emma meets a man and moves in with him after just a few months. However, a conversation on a first date introduces a new challenge. The man mentions his desire for children, but Emma may not be able to have children due to her treatments.

Margot van Schayk, the author of the book and the inspiration for the series, was a TV manager who passed away from cancer in 2021. Before her death, she wrote her story especially for her young son, offering a poignant and inspiring account of her life.

"Don't Fall, Dance" is set to premiere on ZDF's streaming portal on August 1st. It will also air back-to-back on ZDFneo on August 5th at 10:30 PM. The series promises to be a lively celebration of van Schayk's life, offering a unique blend of drama and comedy that resonates with audiences worldwide.
