Lidl Recalls Chocolate Bars Due to Salmonella Risk

Lidl has initiated a product recall in Germany due to salmonella contamination. The affected item is 'Way To Go - Salted Caramel Whole Milk Chocolate, 180g' by Ludwig Weinrich GmbH & Co. KG. Customers who have purchased this product can return it to Lidl for a refund, even without a receipt.

The recall applies to specific batches of the chocolate bar sold at Lidl in certain German federal states. Only the product with best before date 19.02.2026 and batch number L25083a is affected. Other 'Way To Go' items and products sold by Lidl remain unaffected. Salmonella can cause gastrointestinal illness and may lead to serious illness in vulnerable groups. Ludwig Weinrich GmbH & Co. KG has apologized for any inconvenience caused by the recall.

Lidl and Ludwig Weinrich GmbH & Co. KG urge customers to check their purchases and return the affected product if found. The refund can be obtained without a receipt. Other chocolate bars and products sold at Lidl are safe to consume.
