Lake Mikizha in Paratunka Valley, located in the Kamchatka Territory, has been identified as having critically high levels of pathogenic microorganisms, particularly enterococci. According to laboratory analysis, the concentration of enterococci in Lake Mikizha has reached 77 CFU/100 ml, significantly exceeding the permissible norm of 10 CFU/100 ml.

The presence of enterococci, bacteria that normally inhabit the intestines of humans and animals, poses potential health risks and can cause serious illnesses such as urinary tract infections and endocarditis. The elderly and those with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to the threats posed by enterococci water pollution.
