Josie was preceded in death by her mother, Mercedes Alvarado; stepfather, Ignacio Alvarado; husband, Jose F. Baca; sons, Carlos Jose Baca and Roland Baca; daughter, Rosella Baca (Turrietta); granddaughter, Glenna Thomas-Witt; great-grandson, Michael Checkley; mother-in-law, Annie Baca; son-in-law, Raul Turrietta; and grandsons-in-law, Joe Monasterio and Jason Riley.
However, Josie is survived by her daughters, Joyce Thomas, Margaret Madrid, and Deborah Baca. She also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will carry on her legacy.
The Funeral Mass for Josie Baca will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM, on August 8th, 2025, at 10am. Following the Mass, burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery.
