Pronova BKK, a renowned German health insurance company with over 200 years of shaping the healthcare system, has released its 2024 transparency report, showcasing impressive figures and a commitment to continuous improvement.
The report, which allows customers to compare how the company handles requests and applications from policyholders, reveals that Pronova BKK received a staggering 6,690 feedback instances in 2024, with over 1,600 compliments expressed to the company. Lutz Kaiser, a board member at Pronova BKK, emphasises the value of this feedback, stating, "Whether positive or negative, feedback is essential for continuous improvement."
One of the key highlights of the report is the company's increased approval rates. In health insurance services, Pronova BKK boasts an approval rate of 97.7%, a 1% increase from the previous year. The company's long-term care insurance also saw a surge, with around 500 more initial applications in 2024 than in 2023, and an approval rate of around 85%.
In medical rehabilitation or preventive care, almost 90% of applications were approved directly in 2024. The approval rate for dental prosthetics remained steady at 95%, the same as in 2023.
Pronova BKK's focus on sustainable management and simple, fast, and clear processes is evident in the report. The company's approximately 1,500 employees answered over 1.7 million phone calls in 2024, and around 122,000 insured persons visited Pronova BKK's service centers for personal care.
In a further demonstration of transparency, Pronova BKK's individual and corporate customer base grew to over 600,000 and around 86,000 respectively. As of 2024, 236,000 insured persons are using the Pronova BKK app for convenient management of their health insurance matters.
