Implementation of water infrastructure and power grid operations in Medey district in accordance with the mayor's orders
Progress in Medau District, Almaty:
In an online briefing, the akim of Medau District, Almaty, Aset Masabayev discussed the progress of Baktijan Sagintaev's instructions, as reported by Almaty.tv.
He highlighted the district's focus on fostering the development of micro-districts like Ak-Kaiyn, Kolsai, Sulusai, Alatau, Musta, Duman, and Kamenoye Plato, in line with the "Almaty-2050" development strategy's "City without outskirts" priority.
Masabayev stated that significant strides have been made in various projects, including:
- The completion of water supply (18.5 km) and wastewater (18 km) networks in Duman, thereby covering 37 km in total.
- The ongoing repair and laying of water supply and wastewater networks in Kolsai and Musta, with a target completion date of March 2021, totaling 14 km.
- The construction of a reservoir and laying water supply and wastewater networks in Kamenoye Plato, with plans to start in the first half of 2021, summing up to 15.5 km.
These projects are projected to provide drinking water and sewage to approximately 2,500 houses and over 7,000 residents. Additionally, modernization and electricity network upgrades are underway in various streets within Medau District.
On the aesthetic front, the beautification of the pedestrian zone of M. Almatinka River, the reconstruction of the Esetai River embankment, and the reconstruction of the Tiksa River bed are scheduled for completion by 2021 and 2022, respectively.
Another pressing issue is the enhancement of mobile and internet connectivity. Since the beginning of the year, improvements have been implemented in 4 district areas: Alatau, Musta (Butakovka), Kenai (partially), and in the Alatau micro-district through the modernization of existing antennas and the installation of additional base stations.
Further work is ongoing by operators to determine locations for antenna installation and towers in Kensaev district and the "Screen" area, with a targeted completion date in October. Meanwhile, Beeline Kazakhstan is considering the installation of an extra antenna at the "Omarova" station in the Kok Tobe district. Cable upgrades are currently underway in the Kolsai district, with an anticipated completion date by the end of October.
In terms of social facilities, all have been connected to heating according to the akim's instructions, with 80% of homes already connected, with work on the remaining homes to be completed shortly.
While specific, detailed information regarding the current status of mobile/internet connectivity improvement in Medau District under the "Almaty-2050" strategy is not explicitly available, it's essential to note that the broader city strategy emphasizes digital infrastructure enhancements and smart city technologies aimed at supporting sustainable urban development and economic growth.
Science and health-and-wellness could significantly benefit from the ongoing projects in Medau District, Almaty. For instance, the completion and repair of water supply and wastewater networks will provide clean drinking water and proper sewage systems for thousands of residents, thereby promoting healthier living conditions. Furthermore, the modernization and electricity network upgrades are crucial for supporting technology infrastructure, which could potentially facilitate rapid diffusion of scientific knowledge through increased internet connectivity within the district.
