Immediate call for blood donations needed

Red blood cell concentrates, or erythrocytes, are stored for only 42 days, and platelet concentrates, or thrombocytes, are stored for just four days. Augusta, Maine On Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025, the American Red Cross will host a blood drive at the Augusta Civic Center, 1st Floor North Wing, Fort Western/Arnold/Howard Room, from 10 AM to 2 PM.
Waterville Valley, NH The American Red Cross will also be holding a blood drive on August 23rd, 2025, at 11 Noon Peak Road. The exact time is yet to be specified.
Cranford, NJ On September 2nd, 2025, another American Red Cross blood drive will take place at the Cranford Community Center, Community Room, from 2 to 7 PM.

In addition to these events, various locations in Germany will be hosting blood donation drives. For instance, the Evangelical Community Center Langerfeld (Inselstraße 19) will be open on Monday, 11th August, from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
The Red Cross also asks that you make an appointment before donating blood, either online at www.blutspende.jetzt or by calling the DRK Blood Donation Service hotline on 0800 11 949 11.
To donate blood, you must be at least 18 years old, feel healthy, and bring your ID or driver's license to your appointment. It's also advisable to drink enough and eat something before donating blood, as advised by the DRK.
After donating blood, you'll rest for another ten minutes, and the Red Cross will provide a snack or lunch pack after your appointment.
Lastly, the American Red Cross has partnered with Cedar Point to offer free tickets to donors at select blood drives through August.
