Heidelberg University's 'Univitality Health Week' Promotes Heart Health and Well-being

Heidelberg University, also known as Ruperto Carola, is hosting a week-long health event, 'Univitality Health Week', from 29th September to 2nd October 2025. The event is led by Prof. Dr. Bettina Wollesen, Vice President for Health and Movement at the Institute for Sport and Sport Science. It aims to promote heart health and overall well-being among students and employees.

The week kicks off with Janik Meyer, a physiotherapist and medical student, discussing heart health on the 29th. Throughout the week, various activities and talks are scheduled. Rebecca Steiner, a nutrition consultant, will provide heart health tips on the 1st. Prof. Dr. Simon Steib will speak on 'Movement as Medicine' on the 30th. The week concludes with Mona Henz, a psychology student and stress management trainer, presenting relaxation techniques on the 2nd.

CPR training is available daily from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Zeughaus-Mensa in the Marstall. A cardiovascular screening is offered daily from 8 AM to 5 PM at three university locations. The week also includes online lunchtalks, heart care tips, and physical activities like Pilates, full-body workouts, and rope skipping in 'After-Work-Outs'. Moderate-intensity guided walks and beginner's running courses are also available.

Univitality Health Week at Heidelberg University offers a comprehensive range of activities and information sessions focused on heart health and overall well-being. With experts like Prof. Dr. Simon Steib and Mona Henz leading talks, and practical sessions like CPR training and cardiovascular screening, the event promises to be both informative and engaging.
