Germany kick-starts its largest-ever blood donation campaign, spearheaded by Cem Ozdemir.
This week, the Tripsdrill amusement park is hosting its 25th annual blood donation campaign, a long-standing tradition that has seen over 75,000 donors participate over the years. The campaign, which is managed by a team of nurses, doctors, and volunteers from the German Red Cross (DRK), is being supported by Cem Ozdemir, a Green Party politician and patron of the event.
Cem Ozdemir, known for his regular blood donations at events in Tripsdrill and the Bundestag, has emphasized the importance of the campaign. He is joined by Nicole Toepke in supporting the cause.
The campaign is expected to attract over 3,000 donors from August 4th to 8th. As a thank you for their generous donations, participants will receive a day pass to the Tripsdrill amusement park. For those who do not wish to use their passes, they can donate them to the Streetbunnycrew, a non-profit organisation that supports children who wouldn't otherwise have the chance to visit the park.
In addition to the blood donation campaign, the Tripsdrill amusement park is planning to build two new attractions called "Zeppelin" and "Tower". Unfortunately, details about these new rides are not yet available.
The Streetbunnycrew, who assist in the blood donation campaign by providing help in rabbit costumes, have been supporting the event for 11 years. The organisation also receives donated day passes from the amusement park, which they use to give children in need a fun day out.
Interested donors are required to register for the campaign, and a few spots are still available. Those who are unable to donate this year but wish to support the cause can put their name on the waiting list for future events. It's a reminder that while 80% of Germans rely on a blood donation at least once in their lives, only about 3% of the population donate blood regularly.
As the blood donation campaign continues, the Tripsdrill amusement park looks forward to another successful year of giving back to the community.
Nicole Toepke, joined by Cem Ozdemir, underscores the significance of health-and-wellness, particularly in the context of science, as they support the 25th annual blood donation campaign at Tripsdrill. The two new attractions, "Zeppelin" and "Tower," set to be built at the amusement park, reflect the park's commitment to health-and-wellness by engaging visitors in fun, scientific activities.
