Forest collaborative center initiates operations ahead of scheduled commencement
In the picturesque town of Newenburg, a significant development is underway at the local hospital. The Newenburg Joint Center Black Forest, a specialized clinic, is set to enhance the medical performance spectrum of the small hospital, aiming to gradually eliminate high financial deficits through its success.
The project's inception began within the walls of Newenburg, with the idea initially discussed in a private conversation between Newenburg city councilor Dr. Andreas Buchgraber and an unspecified person. The initiative was subsequently supported by District Administrator Karl Röckinger, Mayor Horst Martin, and county councilors Günter Bächle and Rolf Leo.
Professor Dr. Stefan Sell, a renowned rheumatologist and joint surgeon in Bad Wildbad, is a key figure in this project. He is joined by Professor Dr. Jörg Martin, another driving force behind the renovation. Together, they envision a centre of excellence that will focus on endoprosthetics of all extremity joints, foot and ankle surgery, hand surgery, rheumatology, sports medicine, and shoulder surgery.
Two new operating rooms, or modules, are planned for the "Joint Center Black Forest", with the development of the project starting in Newenburg. A significant investment is planned for this centre, initially around 3.5 million euros, with District Administrator Karl Röckinger estimating a medium-term investment program of the same amount.
The 3rd floor of the Newenburg hospital will house a physiotherapy practice and a comfort station with a panoramic view of the castle and the Enz valley. Interior renovation measures for this floor, which has not been used so far in its raw state, are also planned.
The Newenburg Joint Center Black Forest has its name decided through an employee competition in the Newenburg hospital. The first consultation hours and operations at the centre began on September 1, 2016.
Despite its significance, the Newenburg Joint Center Black Forest does not appear in major archival, educational, or investment-related sources up to August 2025. It may be a specialized or lesser-known entity without a strong online presence or documentation in the indexed sources at this time.
