North Fayette Township Volunteer Fire Department Saves Choking Infant
In a heart-stopping moment on Monday afternoon, a mother and her infant child arrived at the North Fayette Township Volunteer Fire Department station on Steubenville Pike. The infant child was choking for an unknown reason, causing immediate concern for the mother and the firefighters and EMTs present.
Quick thinking by the mother and quick action from the North Fayette Township firefighters and EMTs allowed for the situation to be mitigated very quickly. The team, led by Deputy Chief Ian Richards, sprang into action, with firefighter and EMT Zac Cummings, firefighter and EMT James Gray, Lieutenant and EMT Brandon Spencer, and Lieutenant EMT Tyler Pilewski all playing crucial roles in the rescue.
