Expanded Access to Medical Services Now Available at Lattimore's Female Health Center

The Women's Health Center at Lattimore is set to open its doors on Monday, April 30, marking a significant milestone in women's healthcare in Rochester, NY. The center, located at 125 Lattimore Road, Suite 200, will officially open with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours for invited guests.

The Women's Health Center at Lattimore offers a range of specialized obstetrics and gynecology services, with Dr. Joseph Scibetta, MD, a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist with over 60 years of experience, practicing there. The center provides comprehensive women’s health care including gynecological exams, prenatal and postnatal care, and other related services.

The decision to relocate was due to the need for more space to expand the program and provide timely services. The new center allows the provision of dedicated space for social work and nutritional support, which were lacking at the previous location. The center has capacity for 30,000 visits per year, helping to meet a growing demand for services in a more timely and efficient manner.

The Women's Health Center at Lattimore aims to improve health outcomes and reduce disparities for women who find it challenging to come to appointments at the hospital. The center is a community-based setting, close to the hospital and offering easy access for patients.

Laboratory support is available at the Women's Health Center at Lattimore for blood and urine testing. The center also offers genetic counseling for pre-pregnancy evaluation and for pregnancy-related ultrasound abnormalities or abnormal results from genetic assessment during pregnancy. Ancillary services available include social work, nutrition, financial case management, and behavioral health.

Ob/Gyn ultrasound imaging is provided at the Women's Health Center at Lattimore for early pregnancy detection, fetal anatomy, heart-rate monitoring, fetal health assessment, gynecology assessment, and post-menopausal bleeding evaluation. The center offers general Ob/Gynecology services, including family planning, urogynecology, chronic pelvic pain care, obstetrical care for high- and low-risk pregnancy, and outpatient procedures.

James R. Woods Jr., M.D., Henry A. Thiede Professor and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, stated that the center enhances their ability to deliver care and provide coordinated care for their patients. The Women's Health Center at Lattimore also offers a Special Care Clinic for high-risk obstetric patients.
