Woah, Lithuania just saw another 99 cases of COVID-19, bringing the total count to a hair-raising 3664, as reported by Almaty.tv and Sputnik Lithuania. Currently, a whopping 1363 folks are battling the virus, with 11150 keeping a safe distance in isolation.
Out of the 3664 cases, 2197 lucky souls have fully recovered! Sadly, the death toll remains the same at 87.
From June 1, a total of 243 cases of COVID-19 import have been detected. Today, we have four new cases to worry about, hailing from Estonia, Ukraine, Italy, and the UK.
Curiously, the National Center for Communicable Disease Control broke down the new cases like this: 49 in Šiauliai, 31 in the capital Vilnius, 12 in Kaunas, 5 in Panevėžys, one each in Klaipėda and Marijampolė counties. That makes for a total of 57 cases linked to known clusters, and the circumstances surrounding 17 cases remain a mystery.
In a 24-hour span, Lithuanian laboratories tested 5925 samples. That brings us to a colossal total of 722,897 tests conducted since the beginning of this wild ride!
