In the heart of London, on the 14th of September, the Grand Connaught Rooms will play host to Pause Live, a leading event for women seeking to regain their confidence and vitality during the menopause. One of the keynote speakers at this event will be fitness expert Jenkins, who is set to share insights on the importance of sustainable fitness strategies for women.

Jenkins argues that the traditional black-and-white thinking surrounding dieting and exercise often leads to guilt and a sense of failure in women's fitness routines. This, in turn, can result in abandoning healthy habits, a problem Jenkins encounters frequently among women. To combat this, she encourages a shift away from an all-or-nothing mindset, urging women to embrace a more sustainable approach to their fitness journey.

The fitness approach championed by Jenkins is embodied in the award-winning WAFA (Women's Fitness After Forty) strength program. This program focuses on sustainable, non-restrictive strategies to support women’s health without resorting to extreme calorie restriction or crash diets. By prioritizing long-term wellness and hormonal balance, WAFA aims to improve menopausal symptoms and overall quality of life.

A crucial aspect of the WAFA approach is the integration of nutritional insights. For instance, the role of nutrients like myo-inositol in overall hormonal balance is recognised. Myo-inositol is known for its beneficial effects on insulin sensitivity and can influence hormonal pathways, making it a valuable addition to the WAFA fitness regimen during menopause.

WAFA's fitness programs also offer a supportive, ego-free environment, challenging unrealistic expectations and fostering a sense of inclusivity and capability among participants.

In a bid to make its approach more accessible, WAFA is offering a prize draw for one lucky woman to win over £500 worth of goodies, including two six-week memberships for its online strength foundation program.

Visitors at Pause Live can learn about the WAFA approach at the "The Hot Flush" Bar, where Jenkins and other WAFA coaches will be available for discussions. Pause Live, with its 50 speakers, 1,000 delegates, and 70 exhibitors, promises to be a vibrant hub of knowledge and inspiration for women navigating the unique challenges of menopause.
