In the hot summer days of Nur-Sultan, more and more folks fancy a dip in the waters, making safety a pressing concern. To tackle this, the city's law enforcement and emergency services have ramped up their preventive measures, as reported by Liter.kz, quoting the official website of the city's administration.

Several regulations have been established, 24/7 patrols have been organized along the Yesil River, warning signs have been set up on risky spots, and safety lessons have been elevated in educational institutions citywide.

Five designated swimming zones have been marked within the city:

  1. Central Beach
  2. "Three Goldfish" beaches (Koktal-1 station)
  3. Arman Beach
  4. "Capital Courtyard" Beach (Kuygenjar station)
  5. The communal beach near the Beisekov Street bridge

Swimming elsewhere is a no-go zone.

The emergency services department stresses the importance of abiding by basic safety rules:

  • Swim only in authorized and equipped areas
  • Never swim past the buoys
  • Never leave kids unattended
  • Never swim under the influence of booze

Disregarding these rules can lead to fines. Last year, a whopping 264 violation notices totaling 1.5 million Kazakh tenge were slapped.
