Commission has been instrumental in devising a protective directive for workers against potential harm from ionizing radiation exposure.

On March 15th, 2023, from 10 am to 1 pm, the Road Safety Association Düsseldorf is hosting a free seminar for seniors. The event, titled "Fit and Safe Behind the Wheel - Stay Mobile in Your Golden Years," aims to provide valuable information and practical exercises to help older adults maintain their driving skills safely and confidently as they age.

The seminar will cover topics such as changes and updates in traffic regulations, proper behaviour in roundabouts, traffic-calmed zones, and interacting with cyclists. It will also discuss forming a rescue corridor, vehicle handling, intersections, left turns, lane changes, overtaking and merging, distance and speed, and early detection of hazardous situations.

Simon M. Höhner, Managing Director of the Road Safety Association Düsseldorf, explains the purpose of the seminar, stating that it is not about taking a second driving test but discussing changes in traffic and exchanging information about individual problems.

For those who may be uncertain in certain traffic situations, Simon Höhner recommends a consultation drive offered by the North Rhine Driving Instructor Association. These fee-based consultation drives can be booked individually upon request and focus on the topics mentioned above. Additional practice sessions can be arranged if needed.

Registrations for the free information event can be made by phone at 0211/ 306644 or by email at [email protected]. The registration deadline is March 7th, 2023.

The North Rhine Driving Instructor Association supports the Road Safety Association in this initiative. For specific details about the Düsseldorf Road Safety Association's offering, such as program structure, eligibility, or scheduling, you would need to consult their official website or contact them directly.

The consultation drives are part of a broader programme that typically focuses on helping older adults maintain their driving skills safely and confidently as they age. It usually includes assessments of driving ability, advice on adapting driving habits, strategies for staying mobile, and sometimes practical driving sessions or workshops. The goal is to promote road safety while supporting seniors' independence and mobility.

The North Rhine Driving Instructor Association and the Road Safety Association look forward to seeing you at the seminar on March 15th, 2023.
