Babies Spotlight: New Earth's Weekly Infants

In the heart of Neuss, a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, a new family has been born. The Möller family, comprising Moritz Möller, Heike Möller, and their newborn daughter, Mavie, recently welcomed their first child, Hannah, at the Lukaskrankenhaus on July 14th.

Mama Bianca, as Hannah is affectionately known, had a relatively smooth birth, weighing 3,860 grams and measuring 53 cm at birth. Bianca, who had limited experience with gynecology, was regularly at the maternity ward for check-ups due to health issues during her pregnancy. She was greeted warmly and well-advised by the staff, describing the maternity ward as a separate world within the hospital.

Papa Jens, a self-employed IT specialist who runs his own software development company from home in Neuss-Hoisten, has taken time off from work to be with his family. His employer has allowed him this leave, a luxury many parents may not have due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, with his new work-from-home arrangement, Papa Jens is likely to watch more TV instead of attending FC Köln matches.

Heike Möller, a business graduate who organizes international conferences for oral and maxillofacial surgeons, has a unique hobby. She learned to fly during the pandemic, a change in lifestyle or a coping mechanism for the challenging times. Her flying instructor is Moritz Möller's best friend. Moritz, who has had his pilot's license for over ten years, is Heike's co-pilot in their shared hobby. The couple often take off from the Mönchengladbach airport in their own small pink-white private plane.

Heike, born and raised in Neuss, and Moritz, who moved to Neuss at the age of five from Westphalia, have clearly defined roles in their aviation adventures. While Heike takes the controls, Moritz handles the communication. Their family room at the Lukaskrankenhaus is now filled with the joy of their new addition, as they take their time to get to know each other better.

The Möller family has fulfilled their dream by buying a house, getting married, and now having a child. As they embark on this new journey, they do so with the same spirit of adventure that led them to take up flying. The COVID-19 pandemic may have brought challenges, but it has also brought them closer together, and they look forward to creating memories with their little one, Hannah.

In the realm of hobbies, Heike Möller, an aviation enthusiast and a business graduate organizing health-and-wellness conferences for dental surgeons, found solace in the skies during the pandemic. Meanwhile, Moritz Möller, her partner and fellow pilot, supports her in this unique other-worldly pursuit, as they navigate their family health journey with their newborn, Hannah.
