Anticipating the Arrival of 2022
Chatting with Cassie Morgan: A Look at Parkinson's NSW Support Groups' 2022 Plans
In the new year, we're all about getting back to meaningful, face-to-face Support Group meetings, ya know? With many groups already meeting up or planning to soon, we're here to help you navigate the new COVID normal, stayin' safe and all that.
COVID might not be gone yet, my friend. We're seein' a new variant pop up here and there, so safety remains top priority. Keep a COVID-safe plan in your pocket; make sure everyone's at least 1.5 meters apart, got hand sanitizer handy, and keep a record of who's attendin'. Sharing pens, mics, or snacks? Not a good idea, buddy. Let's reconnect, but let's do it right.
Some groups have been shakin' things up after lockdowns and seein' a drop in participation. I'm workin' with the Marketing Department to boost our presence in the community, promo' the benefits of support groups, and attract new and old faces alike. Plus, we'll lend a hand to those groups that need a bit of help reachin' out to local media, newsletters, bulletin boards, and social media. Need a hand? Drop me a line at supportgroups@our website
I've been hittin' the road already, visitin' groups since November, and we can't wait to get back out there in 2022. CEO Jo-Anne Reeves and the gang are stoked to reconnect with you all. If you'd like us to drop by a particular meeting, just haul a sign to your Annual Plan.
Zoom meetings ain't goin' nowhere either. We'll keep hostin' 'em as a way to reach a wider audience and offer more access to guest speakers and informative sessions. Plus, it's a great opportunity for Q&A sessions. Online meetin' details will be posted on the website and in InTouch each month. Excited? You should be. We're workin' on some juicy guest speakers and hot topics for early 2022.
April's comin' up – World Parkinson's Awareness Month, and it's gonna be lit. Now's the time to start thinkin' about how you want to honor this special month, raise community awareness, and recruit new participants. We're here to help with community outreach, promotions, and organizein' fundraisin' events.
Got the Parkinson's diagnosis and wondering how to talk to the fam? We've got tips and tricks for that.
This year's all about workin' together, stayin' safe, and keepin' the conversation goin'. If you've got questions, just ask 'em; that's what we're here for.
